International Women’s Day: Meet our general manager and director of development and delivery, Aishwaryaa Ravi

Next up in our meet the team series for International Women’s Day 2021, is our general manager and director of development and delivery, Aishwaryaa Ravi.

Aishwaryaa is a manager and leader here at Mindwave. Below Aishwaryaa shares her career journey, passions, inspirations, biggest accomplishments and advice for women looking to venture into healthtech:

Tell us a little more about your role at Mindwave

My role at Mindwave involves liaising between Mindwave and Mediwave to ensure that projects are completed and delivered on time and of good quality.

Tell us a little more about your career journey

I completed my MBA in 2013 and started my career as a marketing executive in an advertising agency. I have worked across several domains since then and climbed up the ladder, having faced struggles, especially around gender and age discrimination.

Having started my journey with Mindwave in 2019 as a project manager, I feel that I have been given the opportunity and liberty to try and do what I feel is right for the people and the company. I now see myself as a much more confident, independent and efficient manager and leader.

What advice would you give to women who want to get into healthtech?

There’s a thought that work-life balance is hard to maintain, for women in particular. This is so lame – I have seen my mother have a successful career while she has been the great mother she always is! It’s all in our heads. I believe in sorting out priorities, planning, managing time and sharing work.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

People management – I just love talking to people plus enjoy getting WORK DONE!

What has been your favourite project to work on at Mindwave so far?

Every single one of them – different and unique.

What inspires you?

Hard work, honesty and being kind to one another.

What is your biggest accomplishment so far?

To reach where I am before my 30’s – I have made my parents proud! 🙂

Name a tech product/idea that you wish you came up with?

AI-enabled predictive analytics to help predict demand for services like hospitals enabling authorities to make better decisions about resource utilisation.

Name an app that you use regularly for your health and wellbeing?

HealthifyMe

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

I sing, dance, volunteer at charities and animal aids.

If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?

I would want to be omnipotent – impossible is my least favourite word!

Tell us something about you that we don’t know

I have an irrational fear of trees when it’s dark!
